Dave Perillo’s NYCC 2024 Exclusive Prints!

Dave Perillo will be set up all weekend long at New York Comic Con 2024 with fellow artist Ian Glaubinger at their NYCC booth #1770.  Dave’s brought some fantastic exclusives with him this year at the Javits Center in NYC. First up is killer Halloween horror movie inspired screen print “Fright Fight!” This NYCC 2024 Exclusive is a 12”x12” hand numbered 7 color screen print. Who do you think would win in this ghoulish battle royale?

Then there is the McDonald’s inspired “Village Nuggest”! Don’t these Chicken McNuggets look adorable!?!  It is a set of six 4”x4” screen prints, each featuring a different Chicken McNugget character.

Then there’s this awesome Halloween two color screen print. As Perillo explained, it is “Based on one of my favorites Halloween III: Season of the Witch.” This print is a 12”x12” hand numbered 2 color screen print on French Speckletone paper to give it that extra vintage vibe. Limited to just 31 pieces, it will retail for $31 (with a one dollar NYCC discount, so $30 at the show).

NYCC 2021 Exclusive The Joker, Star Wars & A Nightmare on Elm Street Variant Screen Prints by Brian Ewing

Brian Ewing is at NYCC all weekend long at booth #1373 where he is releasing New York Comic Con 2021 exclusive variants of his rad Joker, Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back “Some Like It Hoth”, and A Nightmare on Elm Street movie posters. Joker is available now in a Darkest Knight Edition, Some Like It Hoth is available in a Troper Edition and A Nightmare on Elm Street is available in a Midnight Evil Edition. Each movie poster is also available in a matching Foil Variant too!

Each New York Comic Con 2021 Exclusive Variant Screen Prints by Brian Ewing is an 18”x24” signed and numbered screen print.  Each Variant Edition is limited to 50 pieces and retails for $50, while the Foil Variant Editions are limited to 15 pieces and retail for $100. But fear not, if you’re not at NYCC 2021 you can also purchase all six movie posters now at Bodega.BrianEwing.com.

Influential Figures Solo Art Show by Lou Pimentel at Gallery1988

This Friday, January 8th, Lou Pimentel’s new solo art show, Influential Figures, opens at Gallery1988 in Los Angeles.  For this exciting new show, Lou has created 37 original watercolor paintings inspired by vintage action figures and pop culture icons.  Each watercolor painting ranges in size from 6”x9” to 11”x14” and is then mounted onto a laser cut backer board with a silk-screened wood back. The corresponding classic vintage-style action figure is then mounted onto the art with a blister to make the final pieces.

Originally dubbed Vintage Gold, the Influential Figures art show, curated by DKE Toys, is a continuation of the series that premiered at New York Comic Con in 2018 with the first 20 pieces (seen here) and followed by another 20 pieces for NYCC 2019 (seen here).  The complete show will be available for viewing and sale at gallery1988.com starting at 12pm PST on Friday, January 8th. Following the virtual launch, at 1:30pm PST Gallery1988 is hosting an Instagram livestream virtual gallery tour with artist Lou Pimentel and Jensen Karp at Instagram.com/Galleries1988.

Bottleneck Gallery is not messing around this Halloween as they are about to release an insane line up of new screen prints today! SDCC 15 Exclusive Freddy Fett Bootleg Star Wars x A Nightmare on Elm Street Resin Figure by Credenda Studios

Credenda Studios has teamed up with DKE Toys to release this epic mash-up of two iconic movie franchises, Star Wars and A Nightmare on Elm Street! Ever wondered what Freddy Krueger would look like in Mandalorian Armor? Well now we know thanks to this awesome Freddy Fett 3¾” hand cast and painted resin figure.

The San Diego Comic-Con 2015 Exclusive Freddy Fett resin figure by Credenda Studios comes packaged on a full color blister card and is limited to just 30 pieces. Collectors can pick this bootleg kitbashed figure at the DKE Toys SDCC booth #5045 for $65 each.

NYCC 14 Exclusive 8-Bit Edition Freddy & Jason ReAction Retro Action Figures by Funko & Super7

Toy Tokyo’s second big New York Comic Con 2014 exclusive are these awesome 8-Bit Edition ReAction Retro Action Figures of A Nightmare on Elm Street’s Freddy Krueger and Friday the 13th’s Jason Voorhees. Based on the characters’ appearances in their iconic 8-bit Nintendo video games, the yellow and orange Freddie and blue and teal Jason look fantastic! They take multiple immediately identifiable characters and put them in a weird situation like in “Some People Shouldn’t Hi 5”. For instance, in this one design you’ve got Freddy Krueger, Edward Scissorhands, Wolverine, Iron Man, Luke Skywalker and Ash from The Evil Dead trilogy all giving each other hi fives and cutting off the other person's hand (if not more). You can’t cram in all these awesome movie and comic book characters into one t-shirt design and not come up with an awesome image!

A Nightmare on Elm Street x Nintendo “8-Bit Freddy’s Dead” T-Shirt by HATEmale Clothing

HATEmale Clothing, The Blot’s favorite New England based indie clothing brand, released its newest t-shirt design for pre-sale last week. It’s an awesome 8-bit design inspired by the sixth A Nightmare on Elm Street film, Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare. In the film Freddy Krueger is seen controlling and trying to kill a character on a video game similar to the OG Nintendo. The fake NES controller gets ripped from the socket, and Freddy uses his version of the Power Glove as a replacement. Krueger + Power Glove + 8-bit = Awesome, right!?!

Pop! Movies Series 1 - Horror by Funko

Funko's second line of Pop! vinyl figures has been announced, and it’s entitled Pop! Movies. Wave 1 of this new line of cute little vinyl figures has a horror theme and includes Freddy Krueger (A Nightmare on Elm Street), Jason Voorhees (Friday the 13th), Michael Myers (Halloween), Beetlejuice and Stripe (Gremlins).

Each Pop! Movies Series 1 Horror vinyl figure stands 4” tall, has one point of articulation and comes packaged in a four color window box. These will be hitting stores sometime in January 2011, but can be pre-ordered now through Entertainment Earth for $7.99 here.

Do you know what the #1 movie in America was last week? If you said the remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street you’d be correct! The horror film defied bad reviews by raking in a reported $33 million during its opening weekend, proving once and for all fans still love Freddy Krueger! The Blot was a little disappointed to hear critics pan the A Nightmare on Elm Street reimagining starring Jackie Earle Haley because I’ve really loved the way Haley has reinvented himself these past few years. Jackie has done an amazing job picking a wide variety of kooky roles to really spotlight his amazing acting talent.

Threadless - Pop Culture Villains T-Shirt “Shoot the Baddies” by Olly Moss

Olly Moss, the same artist who created the amazing Lost ARG screen print “Locke’s Secret,” recently had a t-shirt he created for Threadless reprinted. Mr. Moss’ star is definitely on the rise, and I’ve got a feeling Lost fans from around the globe will want to pick up this awesome pop culture inspired tee! Olly’s “Shoot the Baddies” features some of the vilest villains in all of pop culture and some of my favorites, including Darth Vader, a Terminator robot, Freddy Kruger, Megatron, Godzilla and a Goomba.

A Nightmare On Elm Street Freddy Kreuger Version 2 Mez-Itz by Mezco

The Nightmare on Elm Street franchise is being relaunched in 2010 staring Jackie Earle Haley as the disfigured dream stalker, Freddy Kreuger. To mark the occasion, Mezco Toyz will be releasing its second Freddy Kreuger Mez-Itz 6 inch vinyl figure featuring the classic horror movie character’s updated look.


The Freddy Krueger 6” Mez-Itz designer vinyl figure comes with a removable hat and his trademark lethal glove, features five points of articulation and is packaged in a collector friendly window box. The Freddy Mez-Itz will not ship until April 2010, but is available for pre-order now directly from the Mezco Toyz online store for $13 each. A Nightmare on Elm Street, the big budget remake of Wes Craven’s 1984 classic staring Robert Englund and Johnny Depp, debuts in theatres on April 30, 2010.

Mez-Itz Series 2 - Freddy Krueger & Jason Voorhees Vinyl Figures

Even though we received visual proof at San Diego Comic Con 2009 that Mezco Toyz would be continuing its popular line of 6” Mez-Itz vinyl figures, it is nice to finally receive an official announcement! Mez-Itz Series 2 will feature two iconic characters of modern horror: A Nightmare On Elm Street’s Freddy Krueger and Friday The 13th’s Jason Voorhees.


Freddy comes complete with a removable hat and glove, while Jason comes with his trusty machete. Both figures stand six inches tall and feature five points of articulation, including a ball jointed head.


The Blot is not sure where these figures will be available and if they can be purchased separately, but you can pre-order both figures as a set directly from Mezco Toyz for $24 at its online store. The Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees set is expected to ship sometime in late October/early November.

Johnny Cupcakes "There’s Something In The Cupcake Mix" 2008 T-Shirts

Every Halloween Johnny Cupcakes releases a few all new, extremely limited edition shirts in its “There’s Something in the Cupcake Mix” t-shirt series. October is here and JC has brought the heat! The Blot is a huge movie buff so I really love the fact that the 2008 editions of the “There’s Something in the Cupcake Mix” t-shirt series feature some of the scariest men in the history of horror movies, Jason and Freddy.



These shirts are always impossible to get, so whether you’re a fan of Johnny Cupcakes or one of the movies featured in this year’s shirts (A Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, Child’s Play, Ghostbusters) you need to act fast and wear a random size if you hope to get one!
