Funko’s SDCC 2020 Exclusives Part 4 – Star Wars, Disney, BTTF, Harry Potter, Scott Pilgrim & More!

San Diego Comic-Con 2020 may be canceled, but that doesn’t mean the exclusives have been. Funko will be participating in Comic-Con @ Home and releasing a ton of vinyl figure exclusives. Funko has started to unveil their “limited edition” (and not so limited edition) exclusives for SDCC 2020.

Funko’s Emerald City Comic Con 2020 Exclusives Part 2 - Marvel, GoT, Star Wars, Harry Potter & More!

Funko will be traveling to Emerald City Comic Con 2020 next month where they will be releasing a ton of green convention exclusives. They’ve started to unveil their limited edition (and not so limited edition) exclusives for ECCC 2020, which includes Game of Thrones Dragon Pop! 3 Pack featuring Drogon, Viserion and Rhaegal, The Office “Recyclops” Dwight Shrute Pop!, Speed Racer Pop!, The Simpson Milhouse Pop!, Green Troll Pop!, Shawn Kemp NBA Pop!, Flocked Harry the Husky College Mascots Pop!, Star Wars Futura Boba Fett Pop!, Harry Potter Pop! of Nymphandora Tonks and Fleur Delacour, and Marvel Pop! of Thanos, Gambit, Toad and Doctor Doom. All of these exclusives and so much more can be purchased at the Funko ECCC booth.

Inglourious Basterds Character Movie Posters

Here’s what The Blot knows about Inglourious Basterds: it’s loosely (and I do mean loosely) based on a 1978 Italian war movie directed by Enzo Castellari, it was written and directed by the great Quentin Tarantino and it stars Brad Pitt. And that’s really about all I need to know to entice me to go see the movie on opening night.


I expect Inglourious Basterds to be very bloody, have a killer soundtrack, feature numerous pop culture references and have some ridiculously awesome catch phrases. But then what else would you expect from a Quentin Tarantino film?



For those of you actually interested in the film’s plot, Inglourious Basterds takes place during World War II and features a group of Jewish-American soldiers known as "The Basterds" who are handpicked to spread fear throughout the Third Reich by scalping and brutally killing Nazis. The Basterds soon cross paths with a French-Jewish teenage girl who runs a movie theater in Paris which is targeted by a group of Nazi soldiers, the same Nazi soldiers who killed her parents. Inglourious Basterds premieres in theaters Friday, August 21, 2009.

NBC 2008 San Diego Comic-Con Exclusives - The Office, Heroes, Battlestar Galactica

If you thought San Diego Comic-Con was just comic books and toys you’d only be half right. It’s also a time for networks and studios to unveil their “next big thing” and/or celebrate with the fans the few things they’ve produced in the past year that have become a part of our pop culture. NBC has decided to start the hype early by opening their very own NBC San Diego Comic-Con store, which will be selling limited quantities of their 2008 San Deigo Comic-Con exclusives starting on June 18th.


While an online site selling Comic-Con exclusives before the 2008 SDCC has even taken place doesn’t exactly make the most sense, it is nice that NBC is giving fans who can’t make it to San Diego an opportunity to purchase some limited edition memorabilia. According to the NBC Store they have four items debuting at the 2008 San Diego Comic-Con, all with varying degrees of limited edition runs. First up is a special edition limited run “Bears. Beets. Battlestar Galactica.” Dwight bobblehead & t-shirt for all of the fans of The Office out there. Then there is a Battlestar Galactica Frakkin’ Cylon Toaster, which actually brands your toast with a picture of a Cylon. The advertisement says this toaster will only have one production run, so I’m assuming this item isn’t all that limited.

Lastly, NBC has created two different Heroes items to unveil at this year’s SDCC. The first is the Current/Future Hiro Bobblehead, the first ever two-headed bobblehead which was specifically designed for launch at the 2008 SDCC (i.e. not limited at all). The second Heroes item is a Sylar Special Edition Action Figure, which comes with an exclusive painting designed exclusively for NBC at the 2008 Comic-Con. There were limited quantities of this Sylar Special Edition Figure created, and I would expect this item to sell out quickly between die hard Heroes fans scrambling to get their hands on all things related to the show and action figure collectors who love SDCC exclusives.

NBC Announces Its Fall Series Premiere Dates

I think this is utterly bizarre! We’re not even into June yet and already NBC is announcing when their television shows will debut/return this fall. (link) I can’t think of a reason why they’re doing this now, besides maybe just trying to get a little early publicity while the other networks are off doing other things, like getting ratings. Again, NBC was fourth this year in the television season ratings rankings. (link) I guess at this point any early publicity for their scripted shows is a good thing.

TV Spin-Off Trivia Contest Answer and The Office News

It seemed apropos that only a week after The Blot Says... Trivia Contest #1 asked “Which Television Show had the most spin-offs,” a huge spin-off story would break on the internet. TVGuide.com Senior Writer and world renowned TV show spoiler extraordinaire Michael Ausiello reported earlier today that NBC is developing a spin-off of fan favorite The Office. You can read Ausiello’s entire article Here. According to Ausiello’s sources, The Office would introduce an all new crop of characters in an upcoming episode and then spin those new characters off into their own show. Have no fear Office fans, Ausiello states that none of the show’s main characters would be leaving to headline the new show.

I know it’s only Tuesday afternoon but this seemed like a great time to announce the winner of The Blot Says... Trivia Contest #1. The official answer is All In The Family with 5 spin-offs: Maude, The Jeffersons, Archie Bunker’s Place, Gloria and 704 Hauser and had 2 spin-offs of spin-offs: Good Times and Checking In.

In case anyone was interested Happy Days was a close second with 4 spin-offs: Laverne & Shirley, Blansky’s Beauties, Mork and Mindy, and Joanie Loves Chachi. There’s some grey area there because Happy Days is actually a spin-off of Love, American Style so maybe Love, American Style is the answer. But technically none of the other shows are spin-offs of that show, so The Blot is making an executive ruling with All In The Family. Another top contender for the title of “TV Show with the Most Spin-Offs” is The Mary Tyler Moore Show with 3: Lou Grant, Phyllis and Rhoda.
