NYCC 2021 Exclusive Back to the Future Screen Print by Drew Struzan x Bottleneck Gallery

New York Comic Con 2021 Exclusive Back to the Future Screen Print by Drew Struzan x Bottleneck Gallery

Bottleneck Gallery continues its week of amazing pop culture releases for Virtual Con (aka NYCC 2021) with this iconic New York Comic Con 2021 Exclusive Back to the Future Screen Print by Drew Struzan!!!

“We’ve worked with Drew Struzan and our printers for years refining the process of bringing Drew’s genre-defining movie paintings to the screen print medium in unique ways that are respectful to Drew’s original work. A few years back, Drew’s art for Back to the Future was released through a different gallery and print company, but due to the difficulty of adapting Drew’s work, the fidelity of the prints didn’t match up with the quality and feel of Drew’s original painting. So, we’ve spent a massive amount of time working with Drew, Vice Press’ creative department, aka Matt Ferguson, and our printers to release a new edition of Drew’s Back to the Future print. We reworked the entire methodology for printing the image, by using index inks, and we’re proud to present this edition that more closely resembles Drew’s original artistic vision!” - Bottleneck Gallery

Back to the Future by Drew Struzan is a 24”x36” hand numbered 18 color screen print. The Regular Edition is a timed edition and will retail for $125 ($175 signed), while the Art Print Variant is limited to 150 signed and numbered pieces and will retail for $200. Both BTTF movie posters will go on sale at 12pm ET today, Thursday, October 7th, at BottleneckGallery.com. The Timed Edition will be available through 11:59pm ET on Sunday, October 10th.

The Thing 3D Lenticular Movie Poster by Drew Struzan x Vice Press

The Thing 3D Lenticular Movie Poster by Drew Struzan x Vice Press

Vice Press is teaming up with Bottleneck Gallery to release a brand new 3D Lenticular Edition of Drew Struzan’s iconic movie poster for John Carpenter’s The Thing! As Vice Press explained, “Well known to John Carpenter and cinema fans alike, Drew’s iconic imagery for The Thing comes to life in these amazing lenticular prints. We’ve worked closely with the original source images to ensure that the art is replicated to the highest quality”.

The Thing 3D Lenticular Movie Poster by Drew Struzan x Vice Press

There are two styles of 3D Lenticular Movie Posters being produced by Vice Press and Bottleneck Gallery: a thinner (1mm), flexible PET lenticular print mounted on dense paper backing. This option is more flexible, lighter, and thinner. Then there’s a thick lenticular print (4mm), akin to plexi-glass, called polystyrene. BNG calls this one Lenticular Plex for ease of differentiation. This option looks and feels like a sheet of plexiglass but with a lenticular lens. As with all lenticular prints, they are best viewed from about 4 to 6 feet away from the subject. This allows the lens to do what it does best and gives the best 3D effect.

The Thing 3D Lenticular Movie Poster by Drew Struzan x Vice Press

The Thing by Drew Struzan is a 24”x36” hand numbered 3D Lenticular Print and will be available in a Movie Poster Edition and an Art Print Edition. Each version will be available in the 3D Lenticular and the 3D Lenticular Plex.  The 1mm 3D Lenticular of each edition will be limited to 300 pieces and retail for £75, while the 4mm 3D Lenticular of each edition will be limited to 150 pieces and retail for £150.  All four posters will go on sale at 12pm EST on Thursday, February 25th, at Vice-Press.com.

Back to the Future Timed Edition Screen Print by Drew Struzan x Hero Complex Gallery

Check out this fantastic new release from Hero Complex Gallery!!!! They’ve teamed up with legendary movie poster artist Drew Struzan to release his iconic artwork for Back to the Future as a screen print. What’s really cool about this release is it’s the very first time this BTTF movie poster has ever been released as a screen print.

Back to the Future One Sheet Version Timed Edition Screen Print by Drew Struzan x Hero Complex Gallery

For this release, HCG worked from scans of the original painting as it was paramount for Hero Complex to achieve the top level of fidelity of detail, as well as color accuracy. They worked directly with Drew to approve all color palette decisions before printing, then conducted multiple screen print tests to insure the best quality prints possible, and the results are simply breathtaking.

Unfortunately The Blot won’t be able to attend MondoCon 4 this weekend in Austin, Texas due to a prior family commitment, and I’m totally bummed about it. Today, Bottleneck Gallery revealed one of the biggest projects they’ve ever worked on: a Pan’s Labyrinth screening featuring Drew Struzan’s masterful artwork for the film as a screen print! Guillermo Del Toro, the visionary director behind Pan’s Labyrinth, commissioned the iconic movie poster artist to create a painting for the film before it was released. Struzan’s piece for the film is gorgeous, and it’s amazing that BNG was able to transformer it into a 23 color screen print.

Pan’s Labyrinth Art Edition Movie Poster Screen Print by Drew Struzan x Bottleneck Gallery

As Bottleneck Gallery explained, “Drew’s art for the movie is hauntingly beautiful, featuring Ofelia huddled in the Faun’s arms, with tones and colors emphasizing the dark tone of the movie.” The Pan’s Labyrinth screenings will be held on Thursday, April 13th, at Syndicated Theatre, located at 40 Bogart Street, Brooklyn, NY. Each ticket is $220 and includes 1 signed titled version of Drew Struzan’s Pan’s Labyrinth screen print, admission to the screening, 2 enamel lapel pins and a complimentary themed cocktail. Star Wars: The Force Awakens Teaser Movie Poster by Drew Struzan

D23 Expo Exclusive Star Wars Episode VII The Force Awakens Teaser Movie Poster by Drew Struzan

Iconic movie poster artist Drew Struzan has come out of retirement to paint the Star Wars: The Force Awakens teaser one sheet movie poster seen here that was released exclusively last weekend at D23 Expo. What’s so shocking about this poster is the huge spoiler it contains! J.J. Abrams has been obsessively keeping almost all details of the upcoming Star Wars Episode VII a secret, and then out of nowhere we get this poster from Struzan that features John Boyega’s Finn holding a lightsaber!!!

This is the first time we’ve had any indication that Finn would be the film’s newest Jedi, so that alone is pretty huge Ep VII news. But wait, there’s more! At the D23 Expo it was announced that Finn was depicted holding Luke Skywalker’s original lightsaber! How freaking mind blowing is that!?! The Blot can’t wait to find out more and to see this film on December 18th.

The Walking Dead Season 1 Cast Photo and Teaser Television Poster

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’re probably aware AMC is about to premiere a brand new television show based on the extremely popular Image comic book, The Walking Dead by Robert Kirkman and Tony Moore. Next to TRON and Scott Pilgrim, I think the comic book property people seemed to be talking about the most at San Diego Comic-Con 2010 is the new The Walking Dead live action series.

The Walking Dead Season 1 Cast Photo
While The Walking Dead comic book has been around for 75 issues now, the television show will start off with a six episode first season and will tell the story of life following a zombie apocalypse. Zombies have become the "it" monster in Hollywood these days and The Walking Dead is chock full of them! You can check out the show’s official Season 1 cast photo above, and The Walking Dead’s teaser one sheet television poster, by acclaimed painter and movie poster designer Drew Struzan, below.

The Walking Dead Season 1 Teaser One Sheet Television Poster by Drew Struzan
The Walking Dead follows a group of survivors, led by police officer Rick Grimes, traveling in search of a safe and secure home. Andrew Lincoln will portray the lead role of Rick Grimes while actor Jon Bernthal will portray the character Shane, who worked with Rick in the police department before the zombie disaster. Other cast members includes Laurie Holden, who plays Andrea, one of two sisters who join the survivors of the zombie plague, Steven Yeun as Glenn, an expert scavenger, and Sarah Wayne Callies, who plays Rick's wife Lori.

The Walking Dead Season 1 will air on AMC starting in October 2010.

Hellboy II: The Golden Army Theatrical Movie Poster

New York Comic-Con was this past weekend and the convention was jam packed with panels on upcoming movies, toys lines and comic books. One of the panel's topics was Hellboy II: The Golden Army and from all of the reports I’ve read online, the movie sounds like it will be even better than the original. Coming out of NYCC is a first look at the new Hellboy II: The Golden Army theatrical movie poster by legendary artist Drew Struzan. Struzan has produced some of the most legendary movie posters of all time, and while this one probably won’t go down as one of his most timeless, it is still a great addition to his portfolio. Hellboy II will be out in theaters on July 11th, 2008.

The New Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Movie Poster

Here is the newest movie poster for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Unlike the first movie poster (seen here) which was intricately painted by long-time Lucas collaborator Drew Struzan (Star Wars Episodes I-III&VI, the first three Indiana Jones films, the Back To The Future trilogy), this teaser poster is solely a photo of Harrison Ford’s silhouette sporting Indie’s trademark fedora and holding his classic bullwhip.
