JAWS 3D Lenticular Movie Poster by Bottleneck Gallery

Today, Bottleneck Gallery and Vice Press are teaming up to release BNG’s third 3D lenticular movie poster – JAWS!  Originally created by Roger Kastel, the JAWS movie poster is one of the most praised and recognizable movie posters of the 20th century. Roger’s initial painting was used for the book cover of Jaws, and then later adapted into the legendary movie poster, which is now getting the lenticular treatment!

There will be two versions of this lenticular movie poster release:  Classic Movie Poster and Art Print.  Each of those will be released in two different editions: a thinner (1mm), flexible PET lenticular print mounted on dense paper backing; and a thick lenticular print (4mm), akin to plexi-glass, called polystyrene. BNG calls this one Lenticular Plex for differentiation.

The JAWS 3D Lenticular Movie Poster measures 24”x36” and includes a hand-numbered COA with BNG hologram of authenticity. The 1mm Movie Poster will be a timed edition available at 12pm EDT today, Tuesday, October 6th, through 11:59pm EDT on Sunday, October 11th, and retail for $100.  The Lenticular Plex Movie Poster is limited to 450 pieces will retail for $200.

The 1mm Art Print is limited to 500 pieces and will retail for $100, while the Lenticular Plex Art print is limited to 350 pieces and will retail for $200.  All four editions will be available exclusively at BottleneckGallery.com.

SDCC 2018 Exclusive 100% Soft Prints

The Blot was pretty excited to learn that LA artist 100% Soft was heading down to San Diego next week to set up shop at SDCC booth #1532!!!! But then I remembered I’m not actually going to San Diego Comic-Con this year. But if you are, definitely head over to 100% Soft’s booth because he’ll have a ton of epic exclusive prints, pin sand wearables! The Blot especially drooling over these new San Diego Comic-Con 2018 Exclusive Kitty Cosplay prints. Has Thanos ever looked so cute?

While not much is known about these fantastic signed and numbered prints, here’s the info 100% Soft has shared so far: the San Diego Comic-Con 2018 Exclusive Kawaii Jason Print measures 11”x14” and is limited to 100 pieces. The San Diego Comic-Con 2018 Exclusive No Face’s Summer Outfits is an 11”x14” print on 230gsm fine art paper that’s limited to just 100 pieces. I’ll add more info as it is posted online.

JAWS Movie Poster Screen Print by Roger Kastel x Mondo

Ok, now this is a monumental release from Mondo! Check out Mondo’s official press release: In 1975, Steven Spielberg changed cinema and film-loving audiences forever when he gave the world its first summer blockbuster, JAWS, and nothing was ever the same again. Not only is JAWS an all-time film from an all-time filmmaker, an added feather to the hat is that it's got arguably the greatest one sheet movie poster in cinematic history.

Originally painted by the great Roger Kastel, the artwork is immediately arresting and visceral. A huge great white lunging toward the surface at an unknowing swimmer, giant maw ready to strike. Back in September 2016, we began the process of bringing the iconic artwork to life as a silkscreen poster. Working closely under Roger Kastel's supervision and approval, we enlisted the talents of several key artists and designers including Jason Edmiston on separations, Chris Billheimer on layout, and Bruce Yan on typography. Additionally, a huge shout out to Daniel Danger for helping to get the posters signed by Mr. Kastel. MondoCon 2017 is taking place next weekend (November 4-5) in Austin, Texas, and The Blot is super bummed I won’t be able to attend this year. As always, Mondo will be releasing a killer line-up of exclusive limited edition posters, like this beautiful new Jaws 2 screen print by Laurent Durieux! A companion piece to Durieux’s 2013 Jaws poster, The Blot is more than a little surprised to see a release for the franchise’s substantially less-critically acclaimed 1978 sequel. SDCC 2017 Exclusive Jaws Variant Movie Poster Screen Print by Phantom City Creative x Mondo

Mondo has unveiled their second San Diego Comic-Con 2017 exclusive, and it’s a beautiful variant of Phantom City Creative’s new Jaws movie poster screen print dropping later today. This poster was produced in conjunction with Mondo’s release of the Jaws soundtrack on vinyl – the first time John Williams’ score to the iconic 1975 Steven Spielberg film has ever been officially released as a record.

Jaws by Phantom City Creative is a 24”x36” hand numbered screen print. Each of the three colorways is limited to 225 pieces and retails for $45. The monotone (with red details) colorway above is the San Diego Comic-Con 2017 variant of the three colorways being released this month. During San Diego Comic-Con 2015 Preview Night last Wednesday, Mondo released this super detailed Jaws Movie Poster by Nicolas Delort. It’s Jaws’ 40th Anniversary and the film is more popular than ever right now. In the past few months we’ve seen the release of Jaws toys, records and now an insane screen print by Nicolas Delort. The Blot seriously can’t get over all of the line work Delort put into this design.

Sistine Pop Screen Print Series by Joshua Budich

Joshua Budich recently participated in a group art show with Jeff Boyes and Jay Shaw at Gallery1988. For his portion of the show, Joshua attempted to marry his study and love of the classical Renaissance masters with all of his childhood obsessions and influences from pop-culture, movies, toys, TV, etc. He decided to place bigger than life characters within the Sistine Chapel environment, elevating them to an even grander iconic stature similar to what Michelangelo did with the biblical Prophets and Sybils.

The minute The Blot heard about Budich’s Sistine Pop Series I thought it sounded like a cool idea, but I had my reservations. Then I saw all six prints and I was blown away! These seriously turned out even better than I could have imagined. The series includes “Optimus” from The Transformers, “Sorceress” from He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, “Tetsuo” from Akira, “Gozer” from Ghostbusters, “Brody” from Jaws and “Dave” from 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Each Sistine Pop piece by Joshua Budich is an 18″x18″ 6-color screen print that comes signed and numbered by the artist. Each print has a limited edition run size of 75 pieces, 50 of each which are available now at Gallery1988’s online store for just $40 each.
